The lost world of the Soho Foundry
A journey through one of the greatest industrial sites one earth where Boulton and Watt constructed their early steam engines – including some rare early photographs.
Andrew has been presenting public lectures and staging exhibitions for over 40 years and can be heard regularly on BBC Radio where he is known as “The Urban Space man” or “WM’s Titanic Expert…” His current projects include working with the California Institute of Technology JPL on promoting the Cassini Mission to Saturn and The Antoniadi Project — a space-probe to the Hellas Region on Mars. He also appears regularly on Big Centre Television commenting on history matters.

High speed flash photography
Bring your camera as this is a hands-on evening with four table set up so you can try some high speed flash techniques taught by Manchester-based professional George Franks.
George’s first love is sport ranging from local club sports all the way up to the national side in cricket, going with them on overseas tours to India and the Caribbean. He also lectures all over the North West of England bringing his relaxed and easy to understand style to beginners and advanced photographers alike.
He has an in-house studio where he shoots everything from still life and product photography all the way to group shoots.

Luke has a passion for photography in particular the breath-taking scenery of North Wales. As a result he has an extensive portfolio of atmospheric landscapes as well as city-scapes and even product shots for many well known brands including Laura Ashley, Beatrix Potter and Homebase.
Luke is based in the North West so expect to see some photographs of Chester and the surrounding area that were featured in the first edition of ‘The Ultimate Guide to Chester and Cheshire’.
