Six of us made it to Manchester and enjoyed a somewhat tiring day of hoofing it around the city interspersed with much-needed breaks in coffeeshops.

We were blessed with fine weather and sufficient cloud cover to make it worth digging out the neutral density filters to do some long exposures.

So expect to see some dramatic – and perhaps even surreal- architecture images in competitions next season.
