On Tuesday 31 October Chester Photographic Society scooped both the Print Battle Trophy and the Best Colour Print against stiff competition from clubs across Cheshire and North Wales at the annual competition held at a packed Grosvenor Museum,
Clubs from Birkenhead, Chester, Deeside, Ellesmere Port, Frodsham, Halton, Hawarden, Heswall, Hoylake, Mid-Cheshire, Mold, Nantwich, Wallasey and Warrington took part in the competition which was judged by the perennially popular Adrian Lines, MPAGB, FBPE, EFIAP, ARPS.
Images by Chester members Sue Champion, Mike Coe, Keith Fitzpatrick, Ken Waldie and Jan Wilding helped the club win the knock-out competition with 24 points narrowly beating runners up Warrington Photographic Society who scored 22 points and Frodsham and Nantwich who finished joint third with 21 points each.
Mike Coe of Chester won the Best Colour Print category with his image, “Humpback Whale Breaching” and Andrew Charlesworth of Nantwich won the Best Monochrome Print category with “Cottonwoods in Winter”.
