OPEN DAY 20th August 2022

Members were pleased to be back in the church hall on Saturday to welcome visitors and have a good chat.

We had a steady stream of people throughout the afternoon who came to find out about CPS, look at our prints & digital images and talk about cameras & photography.

We are looking forward to the 2022-23 season starting on 6th September. Visitors are welcome to book Individual talks via the Programme page and membership enquiries can be made via the Join Us page.

FIAP Silver Medal success for Jan Wilding

Congratulations to CPS Photographer of the Year Jan Wilding who has been enjoying success on the Photographic Salon circuit. Just Three was awarded a FIAP Silver Medal at the Bristol Salon and also a BPE Ribbon at the Vale of Evesham.

Just Three

Jan has written a few words about taking part in the salons:

A couple of years ago, as well as entering our own CPS competitions, I began entering some of the Photographic Salons as a challenge to see how my images were viewed by different judges around the country.   I entered the image ‘Just Three’ in to our CPS Open 1 competition back in September 2021 and it scored 17 out of 20 which wasn’t bad.   Then in January this year I entered the same image into the Bristol Salon where it got an FIAP (Federation Internationale de l’Art Photographique) Silver Medal with a score of 15 out of 15.   I was so surprised I didn’t actually believe it until the medal arrived last weekend!   Since then it has also gained an Acceptance and BPE Ribbon in the Vale of Evesham Salon”.

Well done Jan !

L&CPU Annual Club DPI Competition 2022

The results from the L&CPU 2022 Annual Club DPI Competition are shown below.  As we didn’t hold any Print competitions in the club this season, we only submitted images to the DPI sections Open and Nature.  In the club rankings,  out of the 38 clubs who entered the Open Section, Chester PS came joint 19th with 191 points.  In the Nature section, out of 30 clubs, we came joint 11th with 98 points. The winning club in both sections was Chorley with 210 points in the Open Section and 107 in the Nature Section. Chester finished 15th overall in the DPI Competition.

Congratulations and thanks to Patricia Keegan, Ray Groome, Sue Champion, Vikki Naudi,  Keith Fitzpatrick, David Melville, Terry Daltrey, Steve Gregory, John Wild and Jan Wilding whose images we used in our entry.
